Newport-based Paul Fosh Auctions sold two very small yet unique properties at its recent auction.

The first, a former bake house in South Wales, sold for £18,000 after five bidders competed for the two storey property in the heart of a residential area near Bridgend.

Debra Bisley, who sold the property for Paul Fosh Auctions, said: “The dilapidated former bake house, has a garage to the ground floor and open space above.

“The property could allow for further development, subject to the relevant planning consent and the new owner having a recipe, the wherewithal and all the right ingredients for success.”

In Gwent, one of the cheapest houses in Wales went under the hammer.

A total of 32 bids were placed for the dilapidated mid-terraced cottage, finally selling for £46,250 against a guide price of £32,000.

Gemma Vaughan, who was managing the sale, said: “This endearing one bedroom cottage style property offers much potential.

“The property does require full renovation but offers scope for extending (subject to the relevant planning consents). It would make an ideal investment for those looking to renovate and resell, or even those looking for Buy to Let.”

There is a lounge, dining room kitchen and shower room on the ground floor and a single bedroom and small interconnected annexe above. The rear garden is a good size and there is scope for off road parking at the front.
