Britain is one of the leading proptech nations but now its home-grown talent has some French competition to deal with.

Paris-based Unlatch, which has established itself in mainland Europe as the leading digital transaction platform for new homes builders and their agents, is now launching in the UK headed up by new homes veteran Lee Martin.

Like several home-grown platforms such as YourKeys, Unlatch has automated the new homes buying process, from initial enquiry through the reservation, and then across the entire sales progression process, including automated document population, reservation fee collection and AML procedures.

The firm already have over 350 clients in France and more recently in Spain, Portugal and Benelux as they have begun to expand internationally.

€6m funding

Funding for the venture has included an initial €800,000 from a joint venture representing France’s notoriously conservative notaries community, as well as €5.2 million from Series A funding led by insurance giant AXA.

Founded by Thomas Rivoire, Francois Marill and Olivier Adam (main picture), Unlatch has already transacted over €11.7 billion in new home sales for housebuilders big and small via 65,000 reservation agreements across 3,000 housing developments and 100,000 plots in six countries.

lee martin unlatch “Unlatch has gained huge traction across continental Europe in the last three years and proven that it can easily integrate within a housebuilder or new homes agent’s existing team to significantly assist them in saving time,” says Martin (pictured).

“In France, we have reduced this by 29 days versus the industry average, which means developers and agents get paid much quicker and with less risk of fall-throughs.”
