REVEALED: City where estate agencies have most listings
Property firm EXP UK says its data reveals that Liverpool has the highest average number of homes listed for sale by estate agencies.

The city where estate agencies are currently listing almost twice as many properties for sale than other urban areas of the UK has been revealed.
Estate agencies operating within Liverpool are the busiest within the nation’s 15 largest cities, currently listing 46 properties compared to the UK average of 26.
These figures have been produced by estate agency eXp UK, which found some 4,519 agents operating within the cities which were listing 116,309 homes for sale.
Bradford has the second most active estate agencies at an average of 44 homes listed for sale, and Nottingham is next at 38. Others include Leicester (31) and Manchester (30) while Brighton is home to the busiest agents in the South at present (30).
By contrast, the average agent in Glasgow has just nine properties listed, the lowest level of all 15 major cities analysed by eXp UK, followed by Edinburgh (16) and Newcastle (20).
Robust pipeline

“Whether you’re a large corporate, an independent, or self-employed, listings and leads are the lifeblood of any estate agency business, ensuring that there is a robust pipeline of properties reaching the market and, ultimately, converting in order to earn a living,” says Head of EXP UK & Europe, Adam Day.
“But maintaining this pipeline is arguably one of the hardest parts of being an estate agent, particularly when operating within a fiercely competitive pocket of the market.”
Although EXP UK’s figures refer to the ‘busiest’ agencies, the reasons for a firm having more than a neighbouring competitor can be more than just ‘listing prowess’ including a slower pipeline, less competition locally, number of branches and the price of local homes.
A central London estate agent specialising in prime properties is likely to list fewer homes for sale than one specialising in cheap terraced houses in Liverpool.
