The Negotiator Conference & Expo 2019
The grand halls and corridors of London’s Grosvenor Hotel on Park Lane were buzzing with hundreds of delegates, speakers and exhibitors on the 29th November 2019, as they arrived to join The Negotiator Conference 2019. In this stunning venue, with a reputation for first class guest speakers and panel sessions offering hard hitting debate between property leaders such as Michael Stoop, Nick Leeming, Lucy Morton, Lord Best, Peter Bolton King and David Cox (plus many more), The Negotiator Conference stage was ready. Lord Best drew gasps from the audience when he suggested that the end of the small or ‘accidental’ landlord is nigh, that the PRS will increasingly be supplied by larger-portfolio operators. The focus was the property industry in 2020 – exploring what the future holds for sales and letting agents in today’s volatile business environment, including Brexit, regulation, customer hesitation, technology, online agents, diminishing high street footfall, taxation, money laundering, tenant fees and (the then) looming General Election. Brilliantly chaired by The Times columnist Lord Daniel Finkelstein OBE, speakers included leading estate agency senior management, industry consultants, analysts, regulators, industry association chiefs and tech innovators. Going to conferences is more than just listening to debates and, as ever…

The Negotiator Awards 2017 – the winners
Over 750 guests gathered to celebrate the very best residential property companies in the United Kingdom at The Negotiator Awards to celebrate the very best residential property companies in the United Kingdom. With guests from east to west, north to south, the Grand Ballroom at The Hilton on Park Lane, London, was the perfect venue for the 10th year, generously sponsored by Spark and supported by Agency Express, The Deposit Protection Service (DPS), GCB Property & Financial Recruitment, Global4Communications, Good2rent, HomeLet, JET by Reapit, Oracle Group, PropertyBOX, SDL Auctions, Together and Yomdel. Our host this year was Jimmy Carr, one of the UK’s leading entertainers, who didn’t disappoint those looking for fun, laughter and outstandingly clever repartee, throughout the evening. After a very bubbly and excited reception and a splendid dinner, 31 Negotiator Awards were presented in great style – winners listed below. The Negotiator Awards, however, is not like many other events, this is The Property Party of the Year! Sometimes exciting, with dancers and, sometimes noisy with trumpets and whistles, sometimes beating the drums… this year it was daaaaark, creeeeeepy and scaaaary as Halloween came to The Hilton in great style, with the one and only (reincarnated)…

The Negotiator Expo 2015
The property market is changing, with new demands and new competition, but new technology, new support systems and new services all help savvy agents stay ahead of the game. In our post event survey, 70 per cent of delegates said they would do business with exhibitors that they had met. The lighter side With a packed programme, sustenance is vital – delegates had an almost continual availability of this throughout the day; welcomed with pastries, cookies and coffee, pepped up in the morning break with a further range of biscuits, delighted by delicacies over a long lunchtime, delivered by roving waiters, tasty bites included foie gras, fish and chips, crayfish rolls, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and mini fillet steaks (too name but a few), all washed down with wine and soft drinks. Sweet toothed delegates also enjoyed a splendid range of mini desserts to set them up for a tough afternoon. All the exhibitors were interesting. I particularly liked Flamefish – a new option that we hadn’t thought of. It was great to discuss PSG’s new product, MoveIT – we’ve already signed up for it! This year’s exhibitors included: Professional bodies and organisations: RICS, NAEA, ARLA, UKALA, TDS, PRS,…

The Negotiator Conference & Expo 15
Opening the event was Brandon Lewis, Minister for Housing and Planning, who said he was delighted to return to talk to us for the second year running, having survived the General Election in between and managed to stay in post as Minister for Housing and Planning. “Housing featured more prominently in the last election campaign than in any other within living memory. We made it clear that increasing supply and home ownership would be a top priority… a fully functioning and efficient housing market is vital for meeting the aspirations of working people and raising the productivity of our country,” he said. The Minister went on to comment on the new Government schemes that have been launched since the election – the Build to Rent Fund; the £10billion Housing Guarantee Scheme; Help to Buy and the Help to Buy ISA. All popular moves with delegates. He emphasised the Government’s intention to support all tenures, saying, “So whoever you are and wherever you live, you can benefit from a home of your own, whether you buy or rent. “While the right to buy and starter homes may have secured the lion’s share of attention since the election, I can assure you…
