A branch of LSL’s key estate agency Reeds Rains has been reported to the Advertising Standards Authority.

The firm’s Selby Branch got into hot water after it ran a ‘giveaway’ Instagram competition offering the winner LovetoShop vouchers worth £50.

“There will be plenty of chances to enter this month so keep an eye out,” the copy said.

To win the prize entrants had a lengthy list of tasks to complete including liking the post, tagging two friends in the comments, sharing the post and following Reeds Rains Selby on Instagram and liking the branch’s Facebook page.

But despite completing these tasks and subsequently winning the prize, no vouchers were forthcoming.

“A complainant contacted us about an Instagram competition run by the estate agents Reeds Rains Selby where they had been declared the winner but had not received their £50 Love2shop voucher prize,” says an ASA spokesperson.

“We approached the advertiser and they confirmed this had been an oversight; the prize was then sent to the complainant. On that basis we resolved the case informally.”
