The Spicerhaart group of estate agencies has promoted a former Countrywide chief to be its new Group Managing Director as it brings fresh blood into the senior team.
Antony Lark (top, right) joined the company seven years ago from Countrywide where he headed up its regional financial services division for just under 17 years.
“I am over the moon to have been given this great opportunity. Spicerhaart is a very special business,” says Lark.
He joined to head up the company’s Just Mortgages broker division in Colchester, Essex, which distributes mortgage products both direct to other agents but also through the company’s branch network. It has 200 employees and was established in 2012, growing to be one of the stars of the Spicerhaart group.
As we reported last month, he has overseen the Welsh pilot of a new online service at Just Mortgages that offers both its own and competing estate agents a ‘no ties’ mortgage broker hub, and also launched a service for Prime London agents.
Up the ranks
“He’s roared up our ranks into our most senior role and now responsible for delivering our five-year plan,” says CEO Paul Smith (top, left).
“Congratulations and I know you’ll make the role a roaring success; just a shame you’re a gooner!”.
Lark is not the only recent internal promotion. Spicerhaart’s Sales Director, Steve Williams, was promoted to be Managing Director of its Chapter division.
“One of the most important roles of a CEO is to nurture talent and promote the very best people in your company,” says Smith.
Spicerhaart’s agency seven brands include haart, Darlows, Chewton Rose, Felicity J Lord, Haybrook and butters john bee.
