Estate agents will have a new opportunity to have their 15 seconds of fame on TV following the launch of a new Channel 4 property show.

Fronted by Scarlette Douglas of A Place in the Sun fame and her property developer brother Stuart, the six-programme Worst House on the Street series will see the duo helping a family do up their home on time and on budget.

The show will be a cross between Grand Designs and Sarah Beany’s Property Ladder with agents invited in at the end of each hour-long programme to value the property after its restoration.

Scarlette and Stuart are rapidly becoming Channel 4’s new property stars and have already been seen on shows such as Flipping Fast with George Clarke and also briefly taking over the reins from Phil and Kirstie for their Love It or List It show.

Scarlette, as well as being one of A Place in the Sun’s regulars, has also appeared on the BBC’s One Show.

Her brother Stuart is a former professional footballer who bought his first property in 1999, a flat in St Albans, although he bought homes in many of the other towns whose teams he played for prior to retiring in 2010.

With his sister’s help he has built a sizeable property portfolio and also made the move into broadcasting. This year he was nominated for Best Debut Presenter at the New Voice Awards 2022.

“Property has been our passion for many years, and we are excited to be able to share our love for redeveloping spaces with the masses,” the duo say.
