Friday fun: Agent brings new meaning to ‘property launch’
Publicity-shy Suffolk estate agency MD offers to ferry prospective buyers to house viewings on branded boat.

An estate agent in Suffolk has launched the UK’s most unusual home viewings service.
Tim Day, who is managing director of agency Suffolk Coastal has started viewings for house hunters using a branded motorboat and, the picture shows, barefoot and sporting shorts.
“We have recently taken on a beautiful £975,000 quayside property in Orford, which is about 4 miles downriver from Aldeburgh,” he says.
“We will be offering prospective purchasers an alternative way to come and view this property.”
Prospective buyers will be collected from Aldeburgh Yacht Club by a local experienced captain, travel down the river Alde passing through the picturesque Orford Ness national nature reserve, and disembarking at Orford quay.

Tim Day will be there to greet his applicants and to show them around Quay Lodge, and once done will accompany them back to the boat for the return leg to Aldeburgh.
“This is a wonderful way to showcase a superbly located riverside property and we hope that our efforts produce a buyer,” the estate agent adds.
Suffolk Coastal was launched by Day in 2018. This followed his high-profile estate agency career in London, where he became a regular TV property pundit including on Sky and ITV programmes.
While working in London he also established an estate agent that was bought by Douglas & Gordon, which itself was recently bought by Foxtons.
