A TikTok star with thousands of followers claims he was forced to live in a car because estate agents didn’t believe he could afford the rent.

Isaac Richman from North London (main picture), who is black, says agents turned him away due to the colour of his skin and the fact he was self-employed, the Daily Mail reports.

He has a job in construction and earns around £56k per year.

I’m dreaming right? I must be dreaming.”

“I’m dreaming right? I must be dreaming. I’ve got 70,000 followers and all these views. How does that work out?”

More money

Richman told MyLondon that he put down a £2,000 deposit on a property, but it was given to someone else.

He says: “I’ve been going to estate agents and they look at me, and they think, young black man, probably ain’t got the money to pay for this.

“They don’t know that I make more money than half of these estate agents.”

Richman had been saving for a deposit, but he now has a studio flat, which he secured with help from Enfield Council.

  1. Put it this way, I have clients who blatantly call and say “if there are blacks or Indians on the development they wont buy!!”

Iv had people say “due to too many brown faces in the area, I’m now pulling out of my transaction!”

I feel sorry for this influencer due to being black and self employed it’s disgusting
So unless you are black, you won’t know!!!

  2. £2000 holding deposit means rent would be approx £100,000 a year, required earnings would be £250,000 a year to pass references. How has he secured a council flat with £250,000 earnings?

Racism 100% exists in this industry, carried out by both landlords and agents and needs to be stamped out, but this doesn’t add up.

  3. My sons are young white men looking for rented accommodation in London and have lost out on properties to other people several times. I put it down to competition. Perhaps I was wrong. However I’m out a mind-reader so don’t know what the agents were thinking.
