Rightmove reveals tool to deliver ‘high intent’ leads to agents

The portal says its 'Renovation Cost Estimator', which is being trialled, will improve quality of leads and help buyers imagine their ideal home.

Home buyers planning changes to their new property will be able to work how much renovations will set them back using a new Rightmove feature.

The portal is trialling a tool called the ‘Renovation Cost Estimator’, which uses AI to estimate room-by-room improvements, with a focus on kitchens and bathrooms.

Rightmove says it will provide agents with more ‘high-intent leads’, and an opportunity to highlight the improvement potential of their listings.

Three levels

The tool, which reads a property’s floorplan, supports three finish levels, from basic to high-end.

Estimates are based on actual room dimensions and local labour and material rates, supplied by BuildPartner, a data provider for renovation and extension costs.

The Estimator builds on Rightmove’s suite of renovation tools, including the ‘Renovation Calculator’, which shows you the value a renovation could add to a home.

The ‘Extension Explorer’ feature highlights the potential to extend a home using planning permission likelihood data and build costs.

‘Style with AI’ uses artificial intelligence to help buyers visualise interior design ideas tailored to each room.

Showcase

Together, these innovations support more confident decision-making and help agents showcase the possibilities within their listings, Rightmove says.

“By using technology to provide tailored renovation estimates based on real room sizes, we’re helping agents connect with serious buyers who are actively planning their next move.”

The Renovation Cost Estimator trial is now live on selected resale listings via the ‘renovation potential tab’ on Rightmove.

Earlier this month, Rightmove unveiled a new function that enables property hunters to share search list results with friends and family.
