Latest licensing costs for landlords revealed 

The National Residential Landlords Association has published the latest licensing costs, ranging from £750 to more than £2,100.

The latest round-up of licensing costs faced by landlords around the country have been revealed.

The National Residential Landlords Association published the updated costs, which range from £750 to more than £2,100.

They include the Westminster City Council licensing scheme that will come into force on 31 August. The licence fee is £1,540, with discounts available for accredited landlords.

Existing additional HMO licences will remain valid until their individual expiry dates and landlords can submit renewal applications up to three months before this date. Applications for new licences can be made immediately.

Meanwhile, in the London borough of Enfield, its selective licensing scheme will come into force on September.

The licence fee is £750 per property and current selective licences will remain in force until their existing expiry date.

Active consultations

Several active consultations are also underway, including for a new selective  for rental properties in Durham.

The proposed fees include an early bird fee of £550 if a licence is applied for within the first six months of the scheme. The standard fee is £700.

Meanwhile, Cornwall is reviewing it mandatory HMO licence fees, saying the changes reflect the “work required to process and monitor HMO licences”.

The proposed fees include £1,957 for five rooms, rising to £2,167 for nine or more rooms.
