Leading rental deposits platform Flatfair has lost a senior member of its team to online lettings agency Howsy.

Adam Ali, who has headed up Flatfair’s partnerships team for the past three years, is to join Howsy as its sales director.

Ali is credited with helping grow Flatfair from a proptech start-up to a significant supplier within the lettings industry, signing up several major estate agencies including Haart and Hunters.

“I am moving on after almost three very eventful years at Flatfair, where we built up from just four of us sitting in a small office to over 60 people and an $11 million Series A [fund raise],” says Ali.

Ali will be familiar to many agents – before joining Flatfair he worked at Fine & Country and The Guild of Property Professionals, and before that ran a London glossy property magazine.

At Flatfair, Ali has been part of the team that a year ago was involved in a lively war of words with main rival Zero Deposit, culminating in an ASA adjudication in Flatfair’s favour.

“Adam Ali joined Flatfair at the start of our journey when we were just a few people with a dream to make renting fairer,” says Franz Doerr, CEO at Flatfair (pictured).

“He played a pivotal role in helping the company to grow into the success it is today, and we will miss his hard work, dedication and enthusiasm. We wish him every success in his next role.”

Howsy currently has just under 70 employees and has 6,000 properties under management across the UK.
