50+ branches of Andrews signs up to long-term deal with OnTheMarket

Agency known for its considerable commitment to charitable work is latest to join portal after initially rejecting its advances.

The 50-plus sales, lettings and new homes branches of the UK’s most charitable estate agency, Andrews, have been signed up to OnTheMarket.com, the first time the company has listed on the portal.

Based in Bristol, it has offices all over London and the South of England including as far north as Abingdon in Oxfordshire stretching down to Hastings in East Sussex.

It recently announced that it had given £1 million to the two charities that are its major shareholders, the largest sum it has donated for 14 years.

Andrews has signed a five-year a ‘long term’ agreement which, although not disclosed, usually suggests a five-year rolling contract to advertise on the portal.

Andrews is one of the growing number of larger chains that did not join OTM when it launched in 2015 but that has been persuaded to sign up now that it’s gone public and is gaining traction.

Business model

“We have closely watched its recent growth since its listing on AIM and we have been impressed by the undoubted momentum it has built amongst both agents and property-seekers,” says David Westgate, Andrews Group’s Chief Executive (main pic, above).

“In a market where agents provide the portals with the majority of both their content and revenue, we are highly attracted by the agent-backed business model and are now very pleased to announce our support for OnTheMarket by committing to a long-term listing agreement.”

Ian Springett, Chief Executive Officer of OnTheMarket plc, says: “We are thrilled to welcome Andrews to OnTheMarket and to have entered into a long-term contractual agreement. As an independent firm with a strong reputation for its quality of customer service and ethical standards, Andrews has achieved an enviable market share in the South of the UK and the firm will undoubtedly strengthen our position in the area with its property listings and positive support for our proposition.”
