Leading SW estate agency buys three-year-old rival firm

Largest independent agent in Gloucester, CGT, makes another acquisition and eyes up further expansion plans across the county.

Saffron Dougall and Amber Hinds from Twinley

CGT Lettings and CGT Sales has acquired Gloucestershire-based estate agent Twinley Property, owned by Saffron Dougall and Amber Hinds (main picture).

Both Dougall and Hinds had previous backgrounds in estate agency and lettings but after three successful years they took the decision to sell-up and spend more time with their families and focus on future projects.

They told The Neg about their decision to move on from Twinley: “It wasn’t an easy decision and derived from the difficulty of juggling to maintain our total commitment to our clients alongside that of our other full-time job as parents.

We must also prioritise our wellbeing after the last year, which has taken a great toll on it.

Angagarad TruemanAngharad Trueman (pictured), managing director at CGT Lettings, says: “Amber and Saffron have shown such passion in setting up their business and have grown it well through the pandemic.

“Their insight and knowledge of the area is a tremendous asset and will ensure a smooth and seamless transfer for all clients. It’s clear we share the same values of hard work and dedication to our clients and therefore I am confident Twinley’s previous landlords and vendors will be very happy moving to CGT.

“I am thrilled that we are adding further strength to our status as the largest independent agent in Gloucestershire as we move forward with our expansion plans across the county and beyond.”

THREE OUT OF THREE

The acquisition is CGT’s third in three years and after a robust due diligence process the asset sale of Twinley officially took place at the beginning of the month.

CGT lettings now has nearly 2000 properties under management across its five branches in Cheltenham, Gloucester, Quedgeley & Kingsway, Tewkesbury and Stroud. The firm’s boss Angharad Trueman, who has been a Negotiator Awards winner and is Vice President of ARLA Propertymark, is also a judge for the 2022 awards. Her firm was set up in 2019 and now has three members of staff working from a central location in Cheltenham, selling property across the county.
