Over 40 sporty fundraisers took part in Beresfords’ Santa Dash starting at Beresfords Chelmsford branch and finishing at Bridge Street Lounge & Grill, Writtle in a 5K fun run to raise funds for Lord’s Taverners.

The runners, including young children, competitive runners, families and a few four-legged friends donned Christmas hats and elf costumes to hot-foot it over to Writtle. Each participant was given a mince pie and a glass of mulled wine or soft drink at Bridge Street Lounge & Grill.

The dash raised £500. Paul Beresford, CEO, said, “There was a wonderful Christmas feel at our Dash for Cash; a lovely family event, it was great to see so many people sharing the festive spirit of charity.”

The funds will enable the Lord’s Taverners to purchase two table cricket sets for children with disabilities. Jo Hicks, Regional Development Manager (North East London and the Home Counties), Lord’s Taverners, said, “Lord’s Taverners is the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity that gives disadvantaged and disabled young people a sporting chance. It is only thanks to the generosity of organisations such as Beresfords, that we can offer these opportunities.”
