Expanding northern estate agency makes sixth acquisition in three years

My Property Box MD Ben Quaintrell says his estate agency is becoming a significant player in the NE and North Yorks property markets.

My Property Box has bought another estate agency taking its acquisition spree to six deals in just three years.

The estate agency, which has a Darlington HQ but covers the North East and North Yorkshire, has bought Richmond-based firm WardHome. Its operations, and the management of its 70-strong rental portfolio, will now transfer to My Property Box.

WardHome has been sold after its founder, Judy Ward (pictured), decided to retire after a 30-year stint working in the lettings industry.

The acquisition of her business follows that of Bishop Auckland estate agent Lifestyle Property earlier this year, together with Westoe Lettings in South Shields, strengthened My Property Box’s position on Tyneside and Wearside.

Northern expansion

Until the purchase of Lifestyle Property, My Property Box was solely a lettings business but is now seeking to expand across its home regions in both markets.

“It’s amazing to think that My Property Box was only founded in 2012 and it has already established a strong regional presence in both lettings and sales,” says its MD Ben Quaintrell (main pic) who started his career in 2004 as a negotiator at Sandersons, which he also acquired recently.

“Our ambition is to continue to strengthen our position within the North East and North Yorkshire, while continuing to examine opportunities to expand into other regions.”

Judy Ward added: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with so many landlords and tenants and I can assure them that they will continue to enjoy the same high standard of customer service with My Property Box.”
