A former football coach with celebrity connections has been promoted by estate agency haart as its Area Partner for Bedford.

Area partners are the firm’s directly-employed but hybrid-style local operators linked to a nearby branch/property centre but who operate separately of its normal postcode territory.

The latest to join is John Chand who enjoyed a career in semi-professional football including stints managing Holbeach United FC where, after a successful period at the club during which it won three trophies during his first stint as manager between 2010 and 2013 that helped make him a popular local figure, he exited in 2015.

Chand, who knew and managed Big Brother 2018 contestant Isaac Jagroop when he was an aspirant footballer, has been an estate agent for over 20 years and during his Holbeach United years worked at Newton Fallowell as a director.

In 2019 he joined Purplebricks, but only for eight months before moving to haart, where he has been twice promoted, including his most recent rise to Area Partner.

Success

“I’ve always been someone that wants to lead by example and having worked in all aspects of the property industry I am confident that this will be what helps my team to success,” says Chand.

“Internal career progression is very important to me and my team, and Spicerhaart offer so much internal support and opportunities, for which I am very grateful.”

One of the reasons he gave for leaving the beautiful game was the pressures it was exerting on his property career, he told local media at the time.

Chand started out in estate agency at local firm Pygott & Crone, making his the second footballer to grace its ranks. The first last year confirmed that former Nottingham Forest player Nigel Jemson has joined its sales negotiator team.
