An East Midlands hybrid agency is the first to have over a million people view one of its sales properties featured within a TikTok post.

Hortons posted the video on 18th November and, so far, it has attracted 1.4 million views, 173,300 likes and over three thousand comments.

Anyone expecting extraordinary dancing, clever editing or weird special effects will be disappointed, though.

The video is relatively straightforward speeded-up video house tour set to chilled music and entitled simply ‘what £750,000 buys in Leicestershire’, proving the enduring allure among the public for ‘through the keyhole’ property porn.

The property is a four-bedroom barn conversion in the village of Fleckney, Leicestershire, one of 954 the company currently lists on its website.

Comments on the minute-long video range from US TikTok users marvelling at the UK’s high house prices and low ceilings, and Londoners marvelling how much space you get for £750,000 outside the capital.

Nevertheless, the post is a flavour of how agents can reach huge audiences with their property listings via social media.

“We are also able to target pools of potential buyers and clients with great specificity, meaning the entire process is more efficient for everybody involved.

“We regularly get viewing requests off the back of our TikTok videos and our Partner Agents are often recognised because of the exposure.

“But this is just one string to our bow as we pride ourselves on maximising various types of social media and growing our online presence in order to reach as many potential clients and buyers as possible.”
