Former Countrywide big hitter Simon Leadbetter has jumped ship from Keller Williams to Fine & Country after just a year in the job.

Leadbetter joins Fine & Country as its global CEO following the year-long stint at Keller Williams where he was tasked with promoting its brand in the UK.

He was formerly Countrywide’s group marketing director until 2017 before becoming Knight Frank’s marketing ‘super star’ as a partner and group head of marketing. In the last five years Leadbetter has worked across all segments of the property sector – commercial, residential, sales, lettings, conveyancing, and finance.

His new employer hopes the hiring will help it reach the number one spot in the international premium market; since 2019, other key appointments include Nicky Stevenson, who stepped into the role as MD of the UK, Daniel Harrington, who now heads up international growth, and Jonathan Handford, director of Fine & Country UK.

Strength

“I’ve always been impressed by the strength of the Fine & Country brand and its truly exceptional customer feedback,” says Leadbetter. “It will be an honour to work with the many talented people of Fine & Country and take its customer experience ethos global.”

Jon Cooke, interim global CEO (left), says: “Simon’s business savvy and extensive marketing experience will be an asset to the brand. He has worked with some of the top names in the industry and his wealth of knowledge will assist the brand to achieve its vision of being the agent of choice within the upper quartile of the market internationally.”

UK MD Nicky Stevenson, who herself left Keller Williams last year to join Fine & Country, adds: “His in-depth industry and marketing experience will be invaluable in growing the brand and supporting our increasing international network.”
