Carter Jonas reports 31% profit jump after opening new regional offices
The agency's CEO Richard Bruce says new offices in Manchester and Edinburgh have helped it to extend its reach into new areas, with turnover up 9.6%.

Carter Jonas has recorded a huge profit jump of 31% as well as turnover growth of 9.6%, its latest results reveal.
Operating profit after tax in the year to April 2025 was £18.8 million, and turnover up from £85.74 million to £93.96 million
And the firm, which has 34 offices, has pointed to “tighter cost discipline”, as well as a stronger regional presence in Manchester and Edinburgh as being among the reasons for the improved performance.
Challenging
Richard Bruce, CEO at Carter Jonas (main picture), says: “Despite this year’s challenging conditions, we have delivered a strong performance, underpinned by a disciplined and strategic approach.
We prioritised profitability through tight cost discipline, while continuing to invest strategically.”
“We prioritised profitability through tight cost discipline, while continuing to invest strategically in areas that support our long-term strategy, including our regional footprint and service capabilities,” he says.
“The divisional boards have been refreshed across the partnership, bringing new leadership, senior experience and, crucially, fresh thinking into each part of the firm.”
Expansion
Bruce, who was appointed in September 2023, says expansion into Manchester a year ago was “a key strand of that growth, establishing a multi-disciplinary offer in a core regional hub”.
“Meanwhile, in Edinburgh, the opening of a new office creates a strong, strategic base in Scotland, extending our reach and supporting prime regional growth opportunities.”
Tentative signs
He says the last year, leading up to the Budget in November, saw a cautious market, but there are “tentative signs of greater stability”.
“Confidence remains uneven, but the direction of travel is clearer and provides a more constructive backdrop in which to plan for the period ahead,” he says.
