Connells Group snaps up four-branch independent estate agency

Tylers which operates in Cambridge and Suffolk has 14 staff and comes with 120 sales pipeline units and 300 managed properties.

Connells Group has revealed its latest ‘significant’ acquisition of an independent estate agency as its rolls forward with its expansion plans.

Not happy to be the UK’s largest estate agency group it has now bought Cambridgeshire and Suffolk firm Tylers Property Partnership Ltd through its subsidiary Sequence.

Tylers has four branches including in Cambridge (pictured), Histon, Newmarket and Willingham.

This brings Connells Group’s agency purchases to 11 so far this year, and the company reveals that all 14 members of Tylers’ staff will be retained, bringing 120 sales pipeline units and 300 managed properties into its business.

Tylers’ staff will now benefit from Connells Group’s national reach, advanced marketing tools, and training – enhancing their ability to serve clients while preserving their local identity.

Tylers Director Allistair Brown

Former director Alistair Brown, who is no longer working for the business, says: “We’re delighted that Tylers is now part of Connells Group, marking an exciting new chapter for our business.

“Most importantly for us, nothing is changing in how we serve our clients – our name and people will remain the same, but behind the scenes, we can now benefit from the scale, technology, and support that comes with being part of Connells Group, helping us to do even more for our clients while staying true to our local roots.

Two directors – Iain Lattimore and Nick Hall – will continue in the day to day running of the business, ensuring continuity for both its colleagues and customers.

Tylers is not Connells only recent acquisition. It has also bought four lettings portfolios adding some 900 managed properties to its books. The companies involved are Edward Clarke in Grays, Essex (now managed by William H Brown locally); Rise in Durham (Bridgfords); Whitakers in Hull (William H Brown) and Robert Cooney in Taunton (Connells).
