Anyone wondering where former Purplebricks boss Sam Mitchell went next now has an answer – Lomond.

Mitchell, who has had a clutch of senior jobs during his 23-year property career including at Foxtons and Rightmove as well as Purplebricks/Strike, has been confirmed as the new Chief Commercial Officer at Lomond, a newly-created role.

Lomond says he is ‘uniquely qualified’ to take up the role having worked in property management and lettings, although it’s his contacts which have helped most – while working at Foxtons he encountered Lomond’s Group Chief Executive Ed Phillips and Chief Revenue Officer John Ennis

In his most recent role as CEO of Strike, he oversaw the purchase of online agent Purplebricks, subsequently leading the integration of both businesses as CEO.

Lettings focus

Lomond’s desire to get Mitchell on board is also down to its near total focus on lettings, a key feature of his career to date. He will work at Lomond’s City offices and focus on strategies to deliver higher growth and profits.

Mitchell says: “Joining Lomond, a business hallmarked by its exponential growth as well as its commitment to setting a new standard in the lettings sector, as CCO is an opportunity I’m thoroughly excited to take on, and I look forward to working with Ed and the team.”

He left Purplebricks in November 2024 citing his desire to ‘take a break’ and spend more time with his family.
