A leading independent estate agency in London has increased its geographical coverage following the acquisition of a local firm following its owner’s retirement.

Anthony Pepe, which currently until now had five branches in North London and Hertfordshire, has bought Tufnell Park firm Stonehouse Estates for an undisclosed sum and follows its acquisition of Chamberlains in 2023.

Stonehouse Estates’ proprietor Tony Michaels is to step down and all his staff are to transfer to Anthony Pepe, while his business will ‘for the time being’ keep its name and identity.

His company, which was founded in 1999, has been built up into one of the leading agencies in Tufnell Park but also covering Islington, Archway, and Camden borders.

But one of the key reasons for the acquisition, as is often the case, is the acquisition of Stonehouse Estates’ substantial lettings portfolio.

Michaels says: “Finding the right people to carry the business forward was incredibly important to me.

“I’m confident that Charlie Perdios and the team at Anthony Pepe share the values we’ve stood by for over two decades. I know our clients and staff will benefit from fresh energy, experience, and a wider network of support.”

Perdios, who is CEO at Anthony Pepe, says the announcement comes at a time of sustained growth and success for his group, following several recent industry award wins and strong market activity across its network.
