North-east agency pledges support to local children’s unit

Your Move Chris Stonock has announced a fundraising partnership with the Children's Heart Unit at Freeman Hospital in Newcastl

YMCS Chuf charity partnershipYour Move Chris Stonock (YMCS) has committed to raising £5,000 to support one of the UK’s most critical paediatric heart units.

The Children’s Heart Unit Fund (Chuf) at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle is one of only two paediatric heart units in Britain equipped to handle the most complex cases. It not only provides essential services across six regional hospitals in the North, but also funds critical equipment, specialist staffing, holistic services, and practical support for families, all exceeding NHS provisions.

Planned events

Initiated in April, this charity partnership will see staff members from YMCS actively participate in various Chuf events, including the Great North Run and the ‘Hadrian for Hearts’ sponsored walk, a 14-mile journey along the UNESCO World Heritage site.

A highlight of the fundraising efforts will be the company’s annual Family Funday in August, alongside numerous initiatives across all 14 branches throughout the year.

Chosen by YMCS staff from a group of nominated charities, Chuf’s mission deeply resonates within the organisation. “Our team is passionate about making a difference in the communities we serve,” said Tim Stonock, Managing Director.
