Reality TV star Ryan Serhant (pictured) has revealed that ChatGPT ‘blew up his $50million deal’.

The American real estate broker, who is perhaps best known for being one of the stars of TVs’ Million Dollar Listing series, spoke out on his Instagram account – which has more than three million followers.

He revealed how the transaction fell apart following months of work putting it together.

Using ChatGPT

He explained that there was a “very smart buyer, very smart seller”.

However, at the last minute, he told how the seller used ChatGPT to ask if they should sell at that price. ChatGPT said no.

At the same time, the buyer asked ChatGPT if they were overpaying – and it said yes.

It is a good job I’m here when ChatGPT offered opposite answers.”

A later reel update revealed that Serhant had managed to save the deal.

He said: “It is a good job I’m here when ChatGPT offered opposite answers.

“Our job is to interpret and provide perspective. I talked through the deal with the buyer and seller and pushed both parties back to the table.”

On being asked a question, Serhant suggested AI “frames its assumptions to provide a coherent answer, not an objectively correct one.”

The original reel posted earlier this month has been liked more than 70,000 times.

Ryan Serhant appears in Owning Manhattan on Netflix and the Million Dollar Listing series. He deals in luxury property and is Chief Executive of the American real estate group Serhant.
