TV star Paul Shamplina’s annual charitable dinner event Rumble with the Agents has raised £12,000 for a local cancer charity.

The boxing-based event, which was held before Christmas at the Holiday Inn on Regents Park Road in North London, was a sell-out occasion with just one crucial individual missing – its organiser.

Shamplina tested positive for Covid the day before the event and had to hand over its running to his wife Rita and her team, who had to corral the 260 leading property industry guests who attended the evening event.

Although he endured several days of feeling ill, he has now fully recovered but says he is disappointed that he couldn’t be at the event, which was billed to include Shamplina in the final fight.

paul shamplina“I was gutted that I couldn’t box or host the event in person – so I just want to thank my wife and the rest of the team for stepping in,” says Shamplina (pictured).

“It’s extraordinary to think that there were landlords in that room who own so much property and it was great to see so many of them, as well as industry suppliers, developers and agents all there both to box, and watch the bouts.”

The money, which includes cash raised from a lively bidding session for a Muhammed Ali signed photo, will go to the Cherry Lodge Cancer Care based in Chipping Barnet. The event was also sponsored by Hamilton Fraser which is celebrating its 25th  anniversary.

Shamplina will continue to put on this yearly event to raise monies for charities.
