Proof that it’s not just big corporates buying up lettings books can be seen Greater Manchester where a local competitor has swallowed up an estate agency rival.

Prestwich-based Jennie Platt Estates on Bury Road has been acquired by local competitor Normie Estate Agents, which will now transfer its former rival’s 600-property book into its own lettings business for an undisclosed sum.

Jennie Platt (main image), who has sold her eponymous firm, says she is going to concentrate on her Manchester city-centre business City Centre Chic, which is both a sales and lettings firm and is based in Deansgate.

The 46-year-old is a high profile figure in the region, having featured in the 2020 BBC documentary Manctopia about the city’s then super-hot newbuild property sector.

She is also a familiar figure in both local and national media, having led a campaign to highlight commercial freeholders who put ‘homelessness spikes’ at the front of buildings, and commenting on the problems caused for leaseholders by the cladding scandal.

Excellence

“Normie Estate Agent’s reputation for excellence and growth makes them the perfect fit to take over our North Manchester operation,” she says.

“I look forward to focusing on our city centre estate agency and continuing to deliver outstanding service to our clients.”

Normie Estate Agents, which already has a branch in Prestwich, has been operating in North Manchester for over 40 years.
