Connells reveals drive to adopt more proptech with senior hire
Julie Chapman is the firm's new CTO and arrives from gambling industry giant Entain, owner of Ladbrokes.
Estate agency giant Connells Group has signalled a major new tech push within the company following the arrival of Julie Chapman, who is one of the UK’s most high profile women working in the sector.
She arrives from FTSE 100 gambling behemoth Entain which owns some of the nation’s biggest gambling brands including Ladbrokes, Coral and Foxy Bingo.
Like the property industry, the gambling sector is wrestling with a battle between high street where Entain ahs 2,500 outlets, and online – both Foxy Bingo, party poker and BetMGM are all online only.
Prior to Entain Chapman led a variety of technology teams and transformation programmes in customer-facing businesses, including infrastructure, supply chain, retail and websites.
She also played a key role at several companies promoting diversity and inclusion.

Julie says: “I am delighted to join Connells Group and build on the many current successes of the technology team. I look forward to exploring how we can leverage technology to enhance the business and create greater efficiencies to both support our colleagues and the service that we provide to customers.”
Anthony Glasgow (pictured), Chief Information Officer, says: “I am delighted to welcome Julie to the Group. She brings a wealth of relevant experience, and a shared appetite to drive continued innovation across our business, as we continue to invest in technology that supports our operations and deliver values for our customers and clients.”
