Coronavirus property advice service for consumers takes off
Founder Kristjan Byfield says just three weeks after being established, AgentsHereToHelp has 130 people and companies involved and 20 advice videos already created.
The founder of an initiative that has brought estate agents together to give advice to members of the public during the Coronavirus crisis says it has now been contacted by 130 agents, conveyancers and property companies keen to get involved.
Kristjan Byfield (pictured, above), who runs London estate agency Base Properties, has also launched a website for the group which until recently existed only on social media.
Established three weeks ago, AgentsHereToHelp gives contributors the opportunity to give free advice to buyers, sellers, tenants, landlords and homeowners on a range of mostly property related subjects.
Some 20 videos have already been produced by different people. These include Murray Lee of Dreamview Estates in London, Paul Shamplina of Landlord Action, Russell Quirk of Keller Williams, Rachel Simpson from Blue Door Estates in Southampton, Daniel Thomas of Fine & Country and Jess Roberts and John Newhouse of conveyancing firm Merritts.
“There’s much more to come and many more are welcome – we think this has the potential to run and run.”
“It started as an idea, driven by the current crisis, looking to answer people’s questions and assuage their fears,” says Byfield. “Now we have a community of nationwide agents, a suite of video content made specifically to help consumers, and a new website with up to date information and an easy way for people to get in touch.
“What has been inspiring is that, with a handful of exceptions, most participants to date have done this for the very first time – and more and more property people are having a go.
