Estate agent heralds TikTok as future of property marketing
And she should know: house in New Cross, South-East London, clocks up 1.4 million views on social media platform after she posts video.

An estate agent in South-East London is taking the property world by storm with her TikTok postings featuring local homes for sale or rent.
Tanya Baker started her own agency under the Keller Williams brand 18 months ago.
Like most agents, she uses Rightmove and Zoopla to list properties – but for 29-year-old Tanya, that was not enough.
As a self-respecting Gen Z-er, she knows that social media awareness is critical to success, and set about building a powerful platform on TikTok.
Now her videos have gone viral, with one New Cross town house clocking up an astonishing 1.4 million views and 320,000 likes.
The videos are shot along the lines of a virtual viewing, so that people on the platform can get a feel for the property.
The industry is quite stiff and old fashioned.”
Tanya (pictured below) told her local newspaper, the News Shopper: “Tik Tok is actually great because people will be scrolling through passively and the algorithm might recognise that they have been to Rightmove at some point and put it on their ForYou page.
“People spend about two and a half hours a day on social media, but only eight minutes a day on Rightmove.
“I want to make the content warm and welcoming, and less stiff, because the industry is quite stiff and old fashioned.”
As well as posting properties for sale, Tanya offers a taste of local history by including old photographs of the area, such as the former fire station in Blackheath Village.
Tanya added: “You just have to think outside the box. It is great to be part of this new movement – I’m just so grateful to be in this time where the industry is changing, and people have been really receptive to it.”
