Estate agent praised for ‘stunning game of deceit’ on TV

An estate agent competing in BBC’s hugely popular The Traitors TV show has left the show after being ‘banished’ from the programme under its brutal rules.
Amanda Lovett, who is a 54-year-old estate agent from Swansea, was one of 22 contestants to join the programme at the end of November, which is presented by Claudia Winkleman.
The participants have been asked to come together to take on missions and add money to a prize pot in a ‘Game of Thrones’ style show that has seen the field whittled down by ‘murders’ and ‘banishments’.
Lovett has been praised for getting this far via a ‘stunning game of deceit’.
For those who have not seen the show, contestants’ survival efforts are undermined by the eponymous ‘traitors’ of the show who if unmasked are ‘banished’ – including Lovett.
She appears to have revelled in her participation despite being unmasked, telling PA News that: “I’ve been with children and things since I was 19, and then married and working and it was lovely to have my own identity.
“And for people to look at me when I said I was a traitor and go “oh my god”, it can really be a 50-plus woman who can play this role.
“We all think of mums as just ‘they’ve been there, done that, they’ve settled down and have got nothing else to give life.
“But I think when you go over 50 and your children start growing up, that’s the time to embrace life.
“Use all your experiences through life and the confidence you’ve gained and put that and generate that into the direction you want to go.”
