Growing Somerset hybrid estate agency House Fox has opened up in three new territories after signing up regional representatives, including a former Purplebricks LPE.

David Williams is now running its Winscombe, Banwell and Congresbury operation, Jake McCabb the area around Clevedon and James Cole its Burnham-on-Sea patch.
Cole worked for Purplebricks for three years before joining House Fox.

“We’ve got an edge on Purplebricks because although we have a similar model, we offer a fairer pricing structure and include photography in the price,” says founder Neil Urch.

Regional partners

“These three new regional partners now give us coverage from Highbridge in the south to Portishead in the north, although we’ve already bagged several listings in Bristol too.

“We’ve taken on a big office after running the business initially from my house, and three admin staff to take all the phone calls.

The company also has an apprentice starting next week and has just taken on board a full-time mortgage advisor as well as an existing part-time one, and a full-time photographer.

“Our plan was to keep bolting on new areas and Covid delayed that – but it has helped too because it proved to agents that you can be successful without a high street branch – and also that in our area brands like Haart and Countrywide were slow to reopen,” says Urch.

“Covid also made me and my business partner Stuart to realise that it was ‘now or never’ to fully commit to the business, invest in it more and really go for growth.”
