The agency's new CEO Guy Gittins' former employer, Chestertons, was one of OnTheMarket's founding estate agencies.

Foxtons is to begin listing all of its sales and lettings properties on the OnTheMarket (OTM) property portal, signalling a new direction for its listings.

This follows the replacement of CEO Nic Budden by former Chestertons boss Guy Gittins who previous employer was a founding member of the portal along with Knight Frank, Savills, Strutt & Parker, Douglas and Gordon (now part of Foxtons itself) and Glentree Estates.

The announcement is a significant coup for OTM, which until now had not wanted to see its 50+ branches list their properties on the portal.

Although the deal has been inked between the two companies, Foxtons has yet to begin uploading properties to the site.

Foxtons had seen its properties on the portal previously through its tie-up with auction platform BidX1, which has been marking some of the estate agency’s properties via OTM.

Strategy

Link to Proptech NewsJason Tebb, (pictured) CEO of OnTheMarket, says: “We are delighted to welcome Foxtons to OnTheMarket. We have been working hard to enhance our offer, adding products and services to deliver greater value to agents and consumers.

“Being recognised by Foxtons is further proof that our strategy is working and there is more to come as we continue to develop our differentiated, technology-enabled property business.”

The deal means that, like many agents, Foxtons now lists its properties on all four UK property portals including also on Boomin, in which it also has a stake and features the portal’s logo prominently on all its branch windows.
