Estate agency Haart has launched an online service that claims to help vendors receive offers on their homes despite the lockdown.

Called Off Market it brings together vendors, their Haart agent and potential buyers online so that they can talk via Zoom about a property, join in virtual tours and, Haart hopes, discuss conditional offers.

The agency will wait until lockdown ends and then organise a physical viewing for the most interested buyers and proceed to final offers.

On its website Haart makes significant claims for the service including that it’s a unique strategy to find vendors a buyer during lockdown something that few other agents can claim, and that the platform is where ‘serious sellers and buyers meet online’.

Still think it’s impossible to start your move during lockdown?  Other agents may think so, but Off Market from Haart gives you a safe way to get started,” it says.

“Off Market uses leading technology to get you moved safely and effectively during these difficult times.  We work behind the scenes to find your buyer, so when you’re ready to move there’s nothing holding you back.”

Haart is using its established Flink social media platform to complete the initial marketing of properties and avoid advertising them initially on the property portals – hence the Off Market name. Once the lockdown ends, and assuming a buyer has not been found, the properties will then be fully marketed.

Billed as an innovative way to stimulate interest in a property during the lockdown, eagle eyed agents will have spotted that Off Market is also a clever way to generate valuations and potential instructions as the Coronavirus crisis grinds on.
