Estate agent buys branch in ‘most exciting London property market’
Richard Wells, who already runs operations in Catford and Sydenham, has added Surrey Quays and Deptford to his growing list of territories.

An estate agent in London has claimed that Surrey Quays is ‘one of the most exciting property markets in the capital’ as he completes the purchase of a franchise in the area within the Hunters group.
Richard Wells (main picture), who has run the firm’s operation in nearby Catford for ten years and its Sydenham branch for over four years, has now completed the acquisition of Hunters’ Surrey Quays branch for an undisclosed sum.
“This is a fantastic opportunity not only to take over an existing portfolio and database, but also to get involved with one of London’s most exciting areas for property,” he says.
“With more than 100 years of property experience between us, I believe that our team is well-placed to provide a quality service to the South-East London market.”
Surrey Quays, and neighbouring Deptford, have been up-and-coming areas of London largely because they are near the City but also under-priced compared to more upmarket postcodes that normally attract young professionals – although gentrification is now taking place at pace.
Change
Rob Smith (pictured), managing director at Hunters, says: “Following this change in leadership, we are looking forward to watching the continued success of the Hunters brand in Surrey Quays.
“Richard has many years of experience in South-East London, and will ensure that Hunters plays a key role in the future of this exciting market.”
The Surrey Quays franchise was previously held by James Ademuyiwa who before that had been a Your Move branch manager in the area.
