US-style ‘new model’ estate agency eXp UK has now signed up 270 agents with the company expected to break the 300 milestone later this year, the company has revealed.

Launched in November 2019, the digitally-focused platform initially signed up 50 agents but by June last year had 200 agents, helped substantially by the surge in interest among many agents in being self-employed and running their own business and diaries.

This is has been spurred on by both the pandemic, which saw thousands of agents get their first taste of working away from a branch office usually from home and the increasing number of platforms like eXp UK within the property industry.

The platform is led in the UK by Adam Day, who holds the title of International Expansion Leader for the UK within eXp which has over 73,000 member agents around the world, albeit chiefly in the US.

His firm’s model has also attracted several high-profile Purplebricks defectors including, as we reported last week, Clare Hughes, who used to be a Purplebricks Territory Owner.

One of the other big names to join eXp UK is North Wales agent Ian Wyn-Jones, who in the past has been both a senior Purplebricks TO and an easyProperty franchisee.
eXp has also recently engaged a big PR company to promote the firm, London agency Rooster PR, which has worked with property sector clients before.
