Property industry giant Knight Frank has appointed Will Matthews (main pic) as its new Head of Farms and Estates.

Matthews, who is better known as ‘Stan’, succeeds Clive Hopkins (pictured, below) who retired in April after 34 years with the firm.

knight frankKnight Frank’s Farms and Estates team, which forms part of its Country Department, specialises in selling rural properties of 150 acres or more.

Matthews joined Knight Frank in 2003 and initially focused on the sale of prime country houses, before specialising in prime farm and estate sales for the last 14 years.

In his new role, Matthews will oversee the day-to-day management and expansion of the specialist unit, as well as continue to advise on other rural properties.

Privilege

Matthews (pictured) said: “It is a real privilege to take on the management of the Farms and Estates team at Knight Frank. It is an exciting time both in terms of the new hires we have made and the strength and buoyancy of rural markets.

“The team we now have in place is larger, better balanced and boasts more specialist expertise and experience than ever before. With a huge new wave of buyers in the market and an ongoing lack of supply – now is a great time to sell.”

Bolstered team

Edward Rook, Head of Knight Frank’s Country Department, said: “I am delighted for Stan and his newly bolstered team – there is no doubt they offer a formidable combination of black book contacts, best in class sales strategy and the most up to date thinking when it comes to the bourgeoning trends of ESG, diversification and rewilding for aspiring rural landowners.”

Knight Frank has also announced a number of further internal moves and hires to bolster the Farms and Estates team.

Alice Keith (née Huxley), moves over from Rural Consultancy, and will advise clients on sales, valuations and ESG initiatives. The team also welcomes Georgie Veale as a negotiator having recently passed her APC.
