Agency giant Leaders Romans Group (LRG) has unveiled its first sustainable branch as part of its drive towards net zero by 2030.

The ‘green’ office has been created after a refurb at the Leaders location in Kemptown, Brighton city centre.

LRG, which was acquired earlier this yearto a City equity firm, selected Brighton as the first Leaders branch was opened there, and for its green credentials, including the fact it has the UK’s only Green Party MP.

The company commissioned green office and retail design consultants Jackson Associates to completely refurbish the office to new green principles. All of the materials used have been produced with longevity in mind, to ensure the branch is not only sustainable today, but will continue to be so for years to come.

A prominent feature of the plan was that every element of the office was made in the UK, or ideally local to Brighton to limit transport emissions and support local green suppliers.

100% renewable

Features of the new office include:

  • 100% renewable energy sources
  • All furniture in the branch is made from recycled or upcycled materials, and will be recycled at the end of its lifecycle.
  • Circular carpet – Carpet in the new branch is only made from 65% post-industrial recycled content, and the supplier will repurpose and recycle the finished item when it reaches end of life.

“The property industry has a key part to play in halting the devastating effects of climate change.”
