Letting agents using for free ad site in bigger numbers
Gumtree reports a 10% increase in agents and landlords listing homes to rent via its classified ads.

It’s usually the destination where people place free ads for furniture, a washing machine or a used car.
But Gumtree has also become one of the marketing go-to places for letting agents, new figures show.
The ads platform has reported a 10% increase in agents listing properties to let, and this year has been the highest since 2023.
Peak time
Gumtree says: “This indicates agents are finding value in using the platform for year-round advertising, with the volume of leads delivered to agents peaking so far in July – 16% higher than any other month in 2025.”
There were 128,000 enquiries to property ads in one week, Gumtree says, with the average listing receiving more than five messages from interested renters.
Around 41,000 listings were live each day, and 8,262 new listings added in that peak week.
Even as the number of new listings grows, it’s not enough to keep up with demand, especially in hotspots like London, Manchester, and Bristol, Gumtee says.
Many listings are seeing multiple enquiries within hours.”

Kim Faura, Consumer Expert at Gumtree, says: “These numbers highlight just how busy the market is right now.
“For renters, it’s a sign to act quickly and be prepared when searching — many listings are seeing multiple enquiries within hours,” he says.
“It’s important to set up instant alerts to catch listings early and ensure you have all your documents ready to go.”
