Meet the estate agent who thinks Instagram is just as important as the portals
Adam Sutton thinks social media is a game changer for the industry particularly if, like him, you have celebrity client names to drop into your posts.
A 27-year-old estate agent in Liverpool has launched a property firm which he says is ‘like no other’.
Adam Sutton Estates claims to cover the whole of Liverpool despite having just one branch in the city’s famous Baltic Triangle area, claiming it can achieve this by utilising social media as one of its main marketing channels to gain instructions and find buyers.
The company has LinkedIn and Instagram accounts, the latter with nearly 5,000 followers, which is a mixture of property pictures as well as lifestyle snaps from Adam’s busy social life.
The young agent claims his company’s Instagram account has the largest property social media following in Liverpool through which vendors will be able to reach a bigger audience than the portals, although the company also uploads its properties for sale through Rightmove.
The launch of his estate agency has attracted significant publicity, largely because Adam says he spent several years working with high profile celebrities in London helping them buy and sell properties.
This included famous clients such as actors Gerard Butler and James McAvoy and Love Island stars Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer.
His Instagram account reveals a lifestyle many millennial estate agents would love to emulate. After a brief period working in Ibiza within its tourism industry he returned to Liverpool to work for a local estate agency before moving to London.
“I always wanted to set up my own agency and this was always what I wanted to do,” he tells the Liverpool Echo.
“Moving to London was never to set up a forever home but when you’re dealing with the kinds of fees from these properties that are multi-million pound homes, the commission is unbelievable.”
