OnTheMarket has appointed a new financial chief to replace Clive Beattie, who announced he was leaving last year.

His replacement is Tom Carter, who joins the portal from Brand Architekts Group, a challenger brand in the beauty sector.

Carter will sit on the board at OTM, but is currently serving a six-month notice period and his start date hasn’t been announced.

He has been CFO at Brand Architekts since 2020, and led the recent acquisition of market listed Innovaderma.

Prior to his current role, he was group finance and operations director at Technetix Group, a global technology company, and has also held financial roles at Alliance Boots, BSkyB Plc and Procter and Gamble. He trained as a Chartered Accountant with PwC.

OTM has appointed Simon Bullock as Interim CFO with immediate effect to provide the finance function with experienced leadership between Beattie’s departure on 27 January and Carter joining. He will not join the board at OTM.

Bullock has 30 years’ finance experience, with more than 20 years at CFO level, including at Caxton FX Limited, AIM-listed Bonhill Group Plc, Merit Group Plc and Aurasian Minerals Plc.

Christopher Bell, Non-Executive Chairman, OnTheMarket

Christopher Bell, non-executive chairman, says: “Tom’s proven experience will be a great asset to the team as we continue with our strategy of building a tech-enabled property business.”

Carter says: “OnTheMarket is widely recognised as a leader in the industry, and this is an exciting time to be joining the business.

“I look forward to working with Jason [Tebb] (CEO) and the team to further differentiate the proposition, and build a “one-stop-shop” for agents and housebuilders across the entire property ecosystem.”

Beattie announced in August he was leaving OTM to join proptech firm Nurtur Group.
