Property industry urged to get pedalling for nationwide charity challenge
Agents Giving says The Great British Property Cycle will raise funds for MIND and The Trussell Trust and require agents to have a Strava account.
Property people who love cycling are being urged to join an industry-wide fundraising campaign being organised by Agents Giving during October.
The Great British Property Cycle challenge is asking all two-wheelers whether road, mountain bike or indoor trainer to record their efforts on cycling tracker app Strava.
Those taking part will then be asked to invite friends, family and colleagues to sponsor them and raise funds for the MIND mental health charity and food bank charity The Trussell Trust.
Several high profile estate agencies have signed up teams to get involved including Winkworth, Andrews, Pygott & Crone, Becketts, Your Move/Reeds Rains, the Acorn Group, Oakwood Homes and Base Property.
Several industry suppliers are getting stuck in too including Loop Software and Kerfuffle.
“We wanted this to appeal to as many people as possible whether they cycle occasionally or are ardent pedallers and by doing it this way enabling them to do it whenever and however they want,” says Agents Giving’s Vikki Girton.
Strava account
Those taking part must have a Strava account and then sign up to the Agents Giving Strava group for The Great British Property Cycle Challenge and add in their mileage during October.
Those sponsoring them will be able to donate via the Agents Giving dedicated page.
“You can help make a big difference this October and see how many miles as an industry we can clock up as we travel virtually around the UK,” adds Girton.
During October Agents Giving will be issued updates on how many miles have been ridden and show progress on a virtual map.
