The right technology is vital to help agents boost transactions in a slower market, says Street Group’s Heather Staff.

Estate agents using Street.co.uk for two years or more have increased their instruction volumes by an average of 24% compared with competitors, analysis by the software provider claims.

The latest performance analysis of Street.co.uk’s customer relationship management (CRM) tools also suggests properties marketed by its agent base were 23% more likely to reach sold subject to contract status than those marketed by competitor agents.

With more homes competing for buyer attention, Heather Staff (pictured), Co-Chief Executive of Street Group, says this data shows why choosing the right technology to manage enquiries and listings is vital.

Winning an instruction is clearly important, but ultimately an agent’s job is to turn that instruction into a successful sale.”

She says:Winning an instruction is clearly important, but ultimately an agent’s job is to turn that instruction into a successful sale.

“So seeing vendors who instruct Street.co.uk agents being 23% more likely to reach sold subject to contract status is particularly encouraging.

“Technology has a role to play at both ends of that journey. Modern, consumer-friendly features can make it easier for vendors to engage with an agency and book a valuation in the first place, while streamlined workflows, automation and greater pipeline visibility help agents maintain communication and keep transactions progressing once they’ve won that instruction.

Importance of technology

“That becomes even more important in the current market. Seller confidence is improving and more homes are coming to market, but transaction levels remain below where they were last year.

“With more stock competing for buyer attention, agents need to make sure they are maximising every opportunity and progressing every sale as effectively as possible.”

Staff says technology should give good agents more time to be good agents.

She adds: “By reducing manual administration and helping teams respond and follow up more consistently, agents can spend more time engaging buyers, supporting sellers and doing the work that actually moves transactions forward.”
