Tlyfe is a collaboration between TDS and OpenBrix and the app has been around for a while; it was originally designed to ‘take the stress out of the move in process’ for tenants by helping them organise their paperwork, deal with their deposits, as well as offering a means of boosting their credit ratings. But the new version of the app will continue this support role into the tenancy itself.

Enhanced

The enhanced version provides users access to a team of property experts rather than AI or bots who will help them deal with maintenance issues, navigate lease agreements, or give them advice on rental rights.

Tlyfe has also added a new marketplace feature, which allows tenants to book anything from a cleaner to finding an odd job man or getting the best deals on energy, telco, and broadband.

It says the changes mean ‘navigating your tenancy has never been easier or more enjoyable’. Asked why agents should use the app, a Tlyfe spokerson said: “Busy agents value tools that can help them through a combination of people and technology, providing answers to ‘standard’ and repetitive questions”.

The original version was welcomed by letting agents, as it helped tenants get themselves ‘rent ready’ and eased agents’ paperwork headaches. But the new version however appear to encroach on areas agents, especially full-service ones, have seen as revenue streams.
