New conveyancing platform enables buyers and sellers ‘to talk direct’
CentreMove says its 'total transparency' approach to conveyancing gives all players in the home moving process a real-time view of each transaction.

A platform created by three entrepreneurs has been launched that promises to give buyers, sellers, estate agents, mortgage brokers and solicitors a single, real-time view of property chains.
Unusual aspects of the platform include enabling buyers and sellers to run searches themselves and access the information directly, and enabling buyers to contact the vendor before making an offer.
Called CentreMove, it is the brainchild of three people – conveyancing solicitors Jen and Gordon Sewell and serial entrepreneur Gordon Quinn, all haling from East Yorkshire.
The trio claim it replaces the phone calls, forwarded emails and second-hand updates that currently “pass for communication in a property transaction” offering instead a single shared picture that every party can see, “updated the moment anything changes”.
Like the many platforms launched recently that aim to fix the problematic conveyancing process, they point to how collapsed property transactions are estimated to cost the British economy up to £2billion a year, with Santander recently putting the cost of the country’s “flawed” housing system at a minimum of £1.5billion annually.
Failed completions
Almost a quarter of agreed sales in England and Wales failed to complete during the first months of 2026 alone and independent research into why sales collapse consistently ranks mortgage-related issues as the single biggest cause – ahead of chain breakdowns and buyers simply changing their minds.

“A close friend of mine waited twelve weeks without a single update on her chain says co-founder Jen Sewell.
“Nobody was doing anything wrong – that’s the disturbing part. It’s just accepted that this is how long silence is supposed to last.”
Gordon Sewel, commenting on the current system, says: “Important questions about a property can take days to answer, while simple misunderstandings can quickly escalate into failed transactions, financial loss and avoidable disputes.
“CentreMove was created to tackle these challenges by putting accurate, real-time information directly into the hands of everyone involved.”
