Purplebricks’ Euros final PR stunt misses goal
Signboard erected in streets around Wembley stadium before the match predicted 'it's coming home' for English football.
Purplebricks launched its most ambitious PR stunt to date just before last night’s Euros final between England and Italy, plastering dozens of its signboard emblazoned with ‘It’s coming home’ in several streets around the Wembley stadium.
The ‘patriotic’ company, which has many agents working in NI, Wales and Scotland, says it boards are designed to back England’s squad in the streets where Raheem Sterling grew up.
This includes Neeld Crescent, only a stone’s throw from Wembley Stadium’s famous arch, where Sterling once lived.
Lenson D’Costa, who is raising his young family in Raheem’s former house, has hailed him as an “inspiration” for children in the area that they could one day play for England too.
Exciting
Mr DeGusta is very much on board with the Purplebricks signs stunt, saying: “Everyone is so excited about England bringing it home and it’s especially exciting for us being so close to Wembley.”
Ben Carter, CMO Purplebricks (pictured) said: “We wanted to show our support for Raheem and the rest of the Three Lions.
“We are confident they can end the nations’ 55 years of hurt against Italy on Sunday and bring it home. Come on England!”.
Purplebricks has form using its signboard to support sporting teams – including backing for its sponsorship of Team GB at the looming Olympics in Japan.
Its sporting-related boards have not always been welcomed. It’s patriotic-styled boards caused a stir in a Welsh village several weeks ago.
