Landlord Law Services has launched a new Dealing With Damp Kit

The kit includes all the tools a landlord will need to deal with damp including a simple checklist for its main causes.

Having delivered two webinars for Landlord Law members on the causes of damp in rented properties EHO Paul FitzGerald wrote a simple checklist to help landlords deal with the problem.

Based on this checklist, LLS was inspired to develop a more comprehensive Landlord Law Dealing With Damp Kit, which looks at each section of the checklist in more detail using explanatory videos taken from FitzGerald’s training webinar.

Damp and mould issues are the most common and often the most problematic issues in rented property.”

Tessa Shepperson of Landlord Law Services Ltd said: “Damp and mould issues are the most common and often the most problematic issues in rented property and all too often are dismissed as being due to ‘tenant lifestyle issues’. However this is not always the case.”

The kit also contains a couple of leaflets that can be given to tenants explaining landlords’ obligations to them.

And there is a Property Inspection Kit which can be used when checking a property for damp after a complaint has been received from a tenant.

The LLS is giving the checklist away for free. Law Dealing with Damp Kit though is only available to Landlord Law Business Level members.

Landlord Law provides support, training and legal resources for property professionals in the private rented sector.
