Strutt & Parker new CEO is high flyer from BNP Paribas side of business

Two-and-a-half years after the two businesses came together, UK boss Andy Martin is to move to group level and be replaced by his deputy Etienne Prongué.

Strutt & Parker and its French owners BNP Paribas have announced a major management restructure in the UK.

This comes two and a half years after the French bank’s property arm merged with Strutt & Parker to become one, although at the time many within the industry recognised it as an acquisition.

Strutt and Parker’s Senior partner Andy Martin (above, right), who lead the venerable estate agency before and after the businesses came together, has now been promoted to join the senior management team at BNP Paribas’ Group operation.

His deputy in the UK, Etienne Prongué (above, left), has been promoted to run the combined property business.

But Prongué has little or no residential experience and, therefore, Strutt & Parkers’ two residential senior leaders are to ‘step into new leadership roles’. Prongué gained a degree in Urban Estates Management from Kingston University prior to joining BNP Paribas.

These are sales chief Louis Harding and lettings director Kate Eales, although other departmental bosses are to step up to the plate to take more senior positions as well.

These are Stephen Wolfe, its Head of Valuations, who is to get Prongué’s former commercial property job and John McLarty, who is to become its Head of Planning.

Senior team

A spokesperson at Strutt & Parker told The Negotiator that an announcement of how this ‘senior team’ would now jointly run the combined business would be made in due course.

“It has been an honour to lead Strutt & Parker and BNP Paribas Real Estate through these last 10 transformational years,” says Andy Martin.

“The merger has allowed us to create a powerful nationwide offering across the full property life-cycle.

“Three years on, our people’s combined expertise is helping our clients to shape the future of real estate and the places we live, work and visit. I’m proud of the business we have built and what we have achieved. “
