Leadership in estate agency is missing – claim
All decent businesses need good leaders, or so they say, but leadership in estate agency is missing according to a panel of industry figures.
All good businesses need good leaders, or so they, but it seems leadership in estate agency is somewhat missing.
That’s according to our panel of the self-proclaimed Great And The Good of the Property Industry.
The Neg has been reporting on November’s fireside style chat amongst a panel which includes Peter Rollings, former CEO and current board member at Foxtons; Sarah Edmundson, Chief Executive of charity Agents Together; Matt Giggs and Gemma Noonan, Founder and Operations Director respectively at The Giggs Group; Russell Quirk, Co-Founder of ProperPR; Iain McKenzie, Chief Executive of The Guild of Property Professionals; Adam Day, UK Country Leader at eXp; and Mark Burgess, Chief Executive at Iceberg Digital and software CRM, Lifesycle.
BASHING
The subject of leadership, and lack of it, covers 11 minutes and 46 seconds and agents do come in for a bashing.
It’s left to The Guild’s Iain McKenzie to rush to the rescue to point out the positives – and there are many.
“There are some brilliant agents in the marketplace,” he says. “And what’s consistent with them is passion, hard work, leadership, training, a narrative – telling the story – and an ability to communicate and articulate with their consumer base and make the customer feel like they are getting a bespoke service.”
