After starting in a living room, Venture Properties now has four offices in Darlington, Chester-le-Street, Crook and Durham.

Pioneering North-East estate agency Venture Properties is celebrating its 17th anniversary with a new look.

Venture launched in Darlington in 2006 working out of a living room, and now has branches in Chester-le-Street, Crook and Durham, and employs 40 staff.

To help celebrate the occasion, the agency has decided to undertake a rebrand, with an overhaul of its website and new branding for its ‘For Sale’ boards.

The new website aims to be more user-friendly, with requesting a viewing, valuation or a mortgage appointment just a click of a button away.

Meanwhile, the signage boards have been changed to incorporate the new darker green and grey colours.

‘Big achievement’

Director Michael O’Connor (pictured) says: “When you consider what’s happened within the property industry since we opened, I look upon it as a big achievement for us.

“We started selling houses back in 2008 when the worst recession in a lifetime hit, and we found a way through it and expanded the business in those years.”

He adds that the business also receives a lot of business from referrals, “which shows we are doing something right”.

“We’re also very proud of the money we have raised for many charities since we opened; I think local independent businesses need to support the communities that they work in and we’ve done just that.”
